Have you ever been asked to trace a deed? This means finding the specified deed, and discovering the information found in this deed and other deeds leading up to and away from the specified deed.
Where is the land that was purchased? Where did the grantor reside? Where did the grantee reside? What was the date of the transaction? Discover other information in the deed as well.
Then, determine when the grantor purchased the property. Is it because that person had just moved to the area? Is it because that person had just married, and this was the first purchase together as husband and wife?
Also determine when the grantee sold the property. Is it because that person is moving from the area? Is it because that person is selling the land to a son or daughter?
There is so much to learn from deeds. Don’t miss out on any of it!
