It is so good when you are in the library, you find a book that may have information about your ancestors, and there is an index. Yeah! This book will be so much easier and less time-consuming to search!

Make sure that you check the index guidelines, though. The index may not contain every name that was mentioned in the book!

Recently, I was searching through past issues of a genealogy journal. The journal had an index for most of the years of publication. At the beginning of each yearly index, it was stated what was exactly covered in the index – not everything was covered for every year.

So, make sure to check the guidelines – you may still need to check thoroughly through the book without the use of an index.

This is it for now.
