I have recently scanned photographs, newspaper articles, and other items, that are in scrapbooks that belonged to my grandmother. So far, I have scanned over 800 items.

One of the items, in a scrapbook that I never knew existed, is a newspaper item about some of my cousins. It turns out, the cousin-siblings were both visiting their parents over the weekend – a break from college. In the article, the cousins are named, as well as their parents.

The article is from the local newspaper for the town of their residence. If your ancestor was from a small town, and the town had a newspaper, you may find similar short articles in the newspaper.

Who would have thought I would find cousins names, their parents’ names, and their relationship, all in a 2-sentence article!
