Orlow and Phenie Cordelia Jones Babcock were my great-great grandparents.

Daniel P. Babcock was born 1 February 1818 in Riga, Monroe County, New York. 1  “… Left two sons—Harlow N., born Oct. 11, 1850 ; married Lydia Fisher, of Waushara Co., Wis., Feb. 22, 1873, and now lives in Stoughton, Dane C., Wis., where he is foreman in a large flouring-mill ; Charles F., born April 29,1857, in Springvale ; is living with his mother on the homestead, which consists of 85 acres of land, valued at about $40 per acre ; P. O. Ladoga.”2

Known is that sons Harlow/Harlo and Charles F. were living with their parents, Daniel and Adelia, in 1860 and 1870.3, 4  Also known is that by 1 June 1880, both of the sons were no longer living with their widowed mother.5  It is also known that Harlow/Harlow was married and had an unnamed son (died 6 September 1875) and son Frankie H. (died 2 February 1879).6  Harlow/Harlo (and wife Lydia and daughter Cara) is in the 1880 U.S. Census in Stoughton, Dane County, Wisconsin.7  As shown in previous blog, by 1900, Harlow and wife Lydia are in Clearmont, Sheridan County, Wyoming.8

By 1910, Lydia is living as a boarder and married in Clearmont, Sheridan County, Wyoming.9  As of 23 April 1910, the household consisted of George Donaldson (age 30), Ellie Donaldson (age 23), Elifford Donaldson (age 4), Luro Donaldson (age 2), and Liddia L. Babcock (age 57, married 36 years, 4 children 1 living, born Wisconsin).

As of 8 January 1920, Lidia Babcock was living in Fall River County, South Dakota.10  In the household were Lidia (age 67, widow) and her daughter, Cora E. Caduska (age 39, widow).

As of 17 April 1930, Lidia Babcock was living in Los Angeles, California.11  In the household were Lidia A. (age 78, widow), daughter Cora E. Kuderick (age 50, widow), Allen Woodwell (age 60, lodger), and Ivan T G Winkle (age 35, lodger).
