Orlow and Phenie Cordelia Jones Babcock were my great-great grandparents.

Daniel P. Babcock was born 1 February 1818 in Riga, Monroe County, New York. 1  “… Mr. Babcock was a miller by trade, but being in poor health when he returned to Castile from Illinois, he went into the boot and shoe business which he followed till October, 1855 ; then came West, and settled in Fond du Lac Co., Wis., living in the town of Alto one and a half years ; then, in Springvale, seven years, and, in March, 1863, bought the farm now occupied by his widow on Sec. 12, in the town of Waupun, where he resided until his death, which occurred Dec. 12, 1877, in the 59th year of his age, having been nearly blind for the last eighteen years of his life…  “2

According to the 1850 Federal Census for Castile, Wyoming County, New York, Daniel (age 33, Shoemaker, value of real estate owned 300, born NY) and Adelia (age 28, born NY) Babcock were living in Castile, NY, as of 12 September 1850.  Also in their household was Clarissa Swain (age 16, born NY).3

According to the 1860 Federal Census for Springvale, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, D. P. Babcock was residing there with his family.  As of 10 July 1860, the household consisted of D P (age 42, Farmer, born New York), Adaline (age 39, born New York), Harlow (age 9, born New York), Chas F (age 3, born Wisconsin), and Solon Halsey (age 20, Laborer, born New York).4

In 1870, Daniel Babcock is residing in Waupun, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.5  As of 30 July 1870, in the household were Daniel (age 52, Farmer), Adelia (age 48), Harlo M. (age 19), and Charlie F. (age 13).

By 1880, Daniel Babcock has died.  As of 1 June 1880, in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, is Adelia Babcock (wife of Daniel).  In the household is Adelia Babcock (age 58, Keeping House, born New York, father born Massachusetts, mother born Vermont).6

Also known is that Daniel and Adelia Babcock are buried in East Ladoga Cemetery in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.7  The following is from an article found in the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society Newsletter:  East Ladoga Cemetery, Section 31 –

BABCOCK  Adelia – wife of D. P. BABCOCK – Oct 30, 1822 – Jan 14, 1884

Daniel P. – d. Dec 12, 1877 – aged 59 yrs 10 ms

Darwin – our baby – son of H. N. & L. A. BABCOCK – d. Sept 6, 1875 (cemented)

Frankie H. – son of H. N. & L. A. BABCOCK – d. Feb 2, 1879 (cemented)

???????     Noah Sturtevant (between Daniel P. and Adelia BABCOCK).
